How huge of a plant are you after? I would be afraid to buy from the VCS because they clean out greenhouses and push the duds to the public.

oh and we killed a semperviva or what I thought was called a semperviva...looked like a "Chicks & Hen" like those my prairie garden grows. anyone??

I don't know of anywhere specific. Really big plants are hard to find in stores. You could try the Vancouver Desert plant society. I have a couple of large Trichocereus and a large Parodia magnifica.
